Carrie Anderson Mays LMHC, BCBA

Mrs. Carrie is the fearless owner of Amelia Music Studio. In 2017 she established a nurturing studio environment where learners of all capabilities can musically thrive.

An alumna from the University of North Florida; she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology and completed the Applied Behavior Analysis post-baccalaureate program of study. 

Mrs. Carrie started her piano instruction with Mary Wantanabe McKee and is an original student of the Amelia Arts Academy. She began instruction on the clarinet at Fernandina Beach Middle School with Asa Jernigan. She has taught private music lessons and held faculty positions with the Nassau County School District, Amelia Arts Academy, Head Start and St. Michael Academy.

Carrie Anderson Mays' teaching methods are shaped by her background as a psychotherapist. Her students acquire the technical aspects of playing an instrument while practicing mindfulness, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills. Carrie is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

She is a guest performer with the Nassau Community Band and delights in the thrill of performing and conducting at Amelia Musical Playhouse. Carrie also volunteers as Young Patrons Chair of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival.

Carrie and husband Jason delight in vacations to visit family in New Orleans with Regan & Jack!
