Gaye Foote
​
Mrs. Foote joined AMS in 2020 to teach Piano Friends and individual piano lessons. She is enjoying an active retirement after 20 wonderful years of teaching music to PreK - 2nd grade students with our Nassau County School District. She taught for 15 years at Yulee Primary School and then 5 more at Southside Elementary. She is a graduate of the University of North Florida in K-6th grade elementary eduction with an additional K-12 music certification.
As a skilled educator, she utilizes a scaffolded learning approach in her instruction. Lessons are planned and taught with "I do", "We do" and "You do" methods. Students are encouraged to self-reflect on what did and didn't work in their practice journey. New skills are acquired with confidence! Her ultimate goal is to instill a lifelong love of music-making in students.
Biking, kayaking and swimming with her husband and two grown daughters are some of Mrs. Foote's favorite activities. She in her fourth decade of directing the children at church to lead worship through dance and music.

“Come to your lessons with a growth mindset and develop your own can-do attitude, so you’ll learn to face challenges with enthusiasm! It’s a delightful thing to learn a piece of music!”
