John Brown

Mr. John joined AMS in 2020 to teach piano and woodwinds. He played in several Amelia Island bands in high school and is now pursuing Instrumental Music Education at the University of North Florida (UNF).

Growing up, Mr. John’s favorite teacher was Dr. Michael Bovenzi – Applied Saxophone Professor at UNF – an incredible teacher who focuses on the active learning and craft of music education and performance. John’s own teaching experience includes his years at Amelia Music Studio’s camps and private lessons.

Mr. John can prepare you for marching band, orchestras, jazz ensembles and even theater! His credits include Nassau/Duval District and County Honor Bands, the Tri-State Band Festival, the UNF Wind Symphony, the UNF Jazz Ensemble 3, and the Amelia Island Jazz Festival.

When he isn't at UNF or practicing with one of his ensembles Mr. John can be found performing in the pit orchestra at Amelia Musical Playhouse!

Mr. John’s advice for young musicians:

“Be humble with what you have, but be hungry for more.”
