Tyler Odom

Brass, Conducting, & Music Theory

Originally from North Carolina, Tyler Odom is a proud Floridian. He is the Director of Bands at his alma mater, Fernandina Beach High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from the University of North Florida.

 

Like so many students, Tyler began learning music in middle school. His band director, Mr. Asa Jernigan, introduced him to the trombone and he has not stopped playing! Tyler has studied with Johnnie Robinson, Dr. Paul Weikle, and Dr. Marc Dickman.

 

Tyler is a guest performer and director with a number of local ensembles and enjoys playing in the pit at Amelia Musical Playhouse.

 

When he is not teaching, judging a marching band competition, or rehearsing his superior rated symphonic band, Tyler is cheering for the Duke Bluedevil's basketball team. And lately waiting to see what the Jacksonville Jaguars will do next.
